Hansie Cronje's Match Worn South African Test Team Cap 1993/94, with U.C.B. South Africa ball and wicket logo on front and 'Sacop Brand' label signed in ink 'Hansie Cronje'. Attractively framed. Wessel Johannes 'Hansie' Cronje (1969 – 2002) was a South African cricketer and captain of the South African national cricket team in the 1990s. He was voted the 11th greatest South African in 2004 despite having been banned from cricket for life due to his role in a match-fixing scandal. He died in a plane crash in 2002. Cronje led South Africa to a record 23 wins in his 53 Test matches, with just 11 losses. Under his captaincy they also won 99 ODIs. Purchased at Lawsons Auctions, Lot 811, 27 June 2005.
