Pages from a toy catalogue. a remarkable group of seven hand-coloured and varnished albumen paper photographs (each approx. 14.5 x 18.5 cm), laid down in a group of 4 and vertically in a group of 3 on two backing sheets. Circa 1880s, they appear to be illustrations for a catalogue of a range of toys and other amusements for children, probably as carried by a travelling salesman. the toys illustrated include dolls, puppets, musical instruments, soldiers, farmyard animals, horses and carts, trains, woven baskets, blocks, etc. the maker's name Ackermann & Co on a box that appears to display rubber stamps; on another box the little Architect can be clearly made out.
