A pair of Japanese Ai Kakiemon Decagonal dishes, Genroku period (1688-1704), the dishes of moulded porcelain in decagonal form, each with underglaze blue decoration of waves and cherry blossom to the cavetto, within which is a circular ring of hana-karakusa (flower scrolls), the painting evidencing the dramatic shading of blues associated with the Kakiemon family production.
