Stunning German Hanau silver riding boot, probably regimental, beautifully embossed with acanthus scrolls, portrait, crowned double headed eagle and spur, displaying the crest of the Princely house of Thurn and Taxis, family of German nobility, and also displaying regimental monogram to front, with inscription translating as 'When you are ready to say goodbye the virgin dedicates a drink to you so drink it until last but not least you can continue hoping.' possibly a gift to Prince Paul Maximilian Lamoral, Prince of Thurn and Taxis from his regiment. He later on went to become friend and confidant of Crown Prince Ludwig II, total weight 811gm, height 24 cm
