A quality early Victorian heavy silver table snuff box, finely machine engraved, the lid with substantial relief cast border of acorns amongst oak leaves. London 1853 by Thomas Edwards. 288gm. 10.5 cm x 7 cm x 3.8 cm. Finely engraved Crest of Harrison (of Hendon, Co. Middlesex and City of Westminster), the arms granted in 1767. Crest: Out of a mural crown (Azure), a demi-lion rampant (Or), crowned with an Eastern Crown (Argent), in the paws a laurel garland adorned with four damask roses (Ppr). Motto: Absque virtute nihil (Nothing without virtue)
