A Japanese Fukagawa Koransha studio double gourd vase, Meiji period (1868-1912), circa 1880s, the porcelain studio vase of double gourd form, decorated with bamboo leaves against a bright yellow ground with banded decoration around the mouth and footrims and around the centre of the gourd shape. Three character iron-red mark to the base 'Fukagawa Sei' beneath the Koransha scented orchid mark. 22 cm high, 9.5 cm diameter, Other Notes: the combination of the Fukagawa mark and the Koransha scented orchid mark dates this accurately to between 1879 and 1894.
