A Japanese Koransha studio vase, Meiji period (1868-1912), circa 1890s, the baluster form vase decorated all over with finely gilded scrolling tree peonies, against an iron-red ground, with a finely enamelled border just above the footrim of lappets in gilding and pale green and pale pink enamels. Underglaze blue scented orchid mark in the centre of the base. 12 cm high, 7 cm diameter,
