A pair of finely carved ivory figures of a Chinese emperor and consort, Republic period, 1912-1949, the emperor seated on the dragon throne with beautifully detailed clothing and holding a strand of jade beads, the Empress seated on the phoenix throne holding a gift in her hand with similar details to her clothing, both are marked to the base, raised on fitted rosewood stands, height 14 cm
