A large Burmese dry lacquer and gilt seated Buddha with a triangular, slim, young face, Shan state, Myanmar, 19th century, sweeping arched eyebrows above a slight smile and framed by elongated ear lobes, hair tight in sharp spires, Schwei-bo thorns set at even intervals to usnisha topped by a lotus, wearing a robe draped over left shoulder with borders highlighted in thayo, of raised floral motif, bhumisparsha mudra, right hand touching earth and left hand held across body, seated in padmasana position, cross legged with soles of feet facing upwards, raised on a triangular plinth with two bands of fine thayo scrolling around edge,., condition, some wear on thayo decoration on stand, height 105 cm, width 53 cm, depth 33 cm
