A jewelled 18ct bi-colour gold cigarette case and match holder, oblong, alternating bands of yellow and rose gold with cabochon sapphire thumb pieces to the hinged main lid and the hinged end panel. In the manner of Faberge work master August Hollming, marked on the lid rim with French gold marks and 'E. Morgan, Paris, Nice'. Edgar Morgan et Cie, the leading Parisian jeweller and retailer was established in the highly fashionable Rue de la Paix, Paris in 1867, succeeding Leon Bassot (1).
