'Important 1843 Australian Political Banner Original 'Wentworth & Bland' banner in silk from 1843. Provenance: By descent from the family of Dr Bland's domestic staff. This banner was created for Australia's first 'national' political elections held on 15 June 1843. Wentworth and Bland successfully stood on a joint ticket for election to the two seats in the Sydney electorate. They campaigned using a white embroidered election banner with the slogan 'Australia's Hope and Sydney's Pride. The banner is in fair - poor condition, but is suitable conservation. It is being sold as is. A full report from International Conservation Services is available.'
