Russian 19th century. Silver presentation tobacco jar, hallmarked, 84, A.C//1870, by Ovchinnikov, of cylindrical form, decorated with central cartouche with inscription in German translating as a gift from Graf (Count) von Donnersmarck to his grandson, Von Donnersmarck, set within a frieze with acanthus scrolls set with hunting dog, cherub and stag, accented with leaf and fleur-de-lis borders, the lid set with spherical finial, the whole resting on three ball feet, total weight 715gm, height 21 cm.
