A rare and decorative 1748 map of the south-eastern United States by Emanuel Bowen, from John Harris' Complete Collection of Voyages and Travels, 3rd edition, pub. London 1764, covering the region from the Mississippi River to Charleston. Detailed with Indian tribal territories, alliances with the French or English and trading paths. Copper plate engraving 36 cm x 47.7 cm, untrimmed 39.7 cm x 52 cm including margins, in good condition, some original vertical creases.
