A pair of Indian Jali doors, Gujarat, 18th century, constructed from carved teak, with two inset panels of pierced jali work, the whole covered in remnant green mineral pigment over white pigment, with hand-forged iron fittings., each 120 cm high, 60 cm wide. Provenance: Salvaged by the Copelands from an 18th century palace in Palitana, Gujarat, which was demolished in 1978. The salvage was managed by the Gujarati handicrafts association, and the purchase made through that organisation.
