An Indian painting of standing Vishnu with a Donor, circa 19th century, the elaborate painting on paper mounted onto heavy card, decorated with gouache (including ultramarine) and gold, depicting Vishnu standing on an unfurled lotus blossom, with two hands holding the conch and dharmacakra, the other two in mudras including varadamudra, flanked by two female figures, being worshipped by Hanuman to one side, with the donor's image above a small inscription to the other side., 29 cm high, 33 cm wide. Provenance: Purchased in new Delhi, 1960s.
