A large Chinese painting of a deity, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) or Qing Dynasty (1644-1912), circa 17th century, gouache and black ink on paper, depicting a stout warlike deity dressed in armour, holding a mountain in one hand before his breast, and a sword in the other pointed down between his legs, surrounded by and standing on scrolling clouds, with a halo behind his head within which is the ocean and rays of the sun. In a wooden and glazed frame., the image 171 cm high, 91 cm wide.
