Framed & glazed photograph. Hq 22nd Aust. Inf. Bde. - 8th Div port Dickson 1941 (Malaya). Group of 12 Australian Army officers including. Brig. H.B. Taylor (Brigadier Harold Burfield Taylor M.C. V.D.). 22nd Brigade was formed in 1940 as part of the A.I.F.'s 8th division & was sent to Singapore on board the Queen Mary & then overland to the British army Barracks at port Dickson (Malaya). Much of the burden of the 8th Division's resistance to the Japanese advance in Malaya fell on Taylor's brigade. In January 1942 the 22nd Brigade was ordered to Singapore to defend the 'Western Area,' the Allied Forces surrendered on 15th February 1942. Image size 22 x 27 cm.
