Splendid pair of George III sterling silver twin handled sauce tureens, hallmarked, London, 1793, John Edwards III, set with wheatsheaf finials, above a raised reeded cover, and tapering oval body, flanked by reeded acanthus handles, with egg and dart borders, engraved with armorial over a pedestal base, total weight 1492gm, height 16.5 cm, length 25.5 cm. Purchased: Bonhams,New York, then private collection Sydney note: engraved with the arms of Mitchell impaling Pusey. The wheat sheaf crest of Mitchell of Llanfrecha Grange, Monmouthshire engraved on the covers, which is repeated in finials
