A Royal Worcester porcelain urn vase and cover, ovoid shape, raised on a circular spreading foot and with a short trumpet mouth issuing from a fluted neck, the body decorated on a panel reserved on a cobalt and gilt ground. Hand painted with exotic birds perched and in flight in an Elysian landscape with a distant view of castle ruins, the body further decorated with moulded patterns highlighted with gilding incorporating stylised acanthus and trellis patterns, the back decorated with acanthus scroll and flowers in gilt. Blue mark, date code for 1897, shape 1817. The cone finial refitted to the small domed cover. 37 cm.
