1956 Melbourne Olympics robe shorts & vest of Leslie Fadgyas, the Leslie Fadgyas collection consists of a pair of green shorts with yellow stripes and a white vest with diagonal green and gold stripes, together with a green and gold gown, with 'Australia' to reverse; which comprise a fencing uniform from the 1956 Olympic Games held in Melbourne. Leslie Fadgyas was the oldest participant for Australia in those games, at 39 years 190 days, who competed in both the individual and team sabre events. Fadgyas had fenced in Hungary before representing his new country, and was a long-term member of the Richmond fencing club. In fine condition, the gown a lone relic and hence of Museum quality.
