Samuel Garnet Wells (Australian 1885-1972) (Test Cricket between England And Australia 1961). Ink and wash cartoon artwork, signed in image lower left, 39 x 27 cm. The Second Test match at Lords, June 1961, saw some changes in the Australian team. 'Benno' (Benaud) was replaced as captain by Neil Harvey, Graham McKenzie appeared in his first Test, May was back in the English team as was Lock, Cowdrey had just made 2 centuries for Kent and everyone was looking forward to the match 'May the best team win'. Australia won the Test Match by 5 wickets. McKenzie took one wicket in the first innings and five in the second. Davidson took five in the first innings and two in the second.
