Ink on paper hanging scroll inscribed with a long poem, signed Zheng Ban Qiao with four seals. The artist became known as one of the Yangzhou Eccentrics (Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou - Yangzhou bagua. He was a Scholar/Official who later became the official painter and calligrapher to the Qian Long emperor. He is known for his paintings of bamboo, orchids and rocks. He often wrote lengthy inscriptions to accompany his bamboo scroll paintings, from the Zheng Xie period (1693-1765)
