A large Chinese ivory Mountain, late 19th/early 20th century. Finely carved and undercut with an elaborate scene of monks riding up a narrow pathway, beside pines and bamboo, and over a raging torrent to a temple atop of a sacred mountain, a group of figures taking tea in a small pavilion en route, silver-inlaid hardwood stand, fitted box.
