A famille-rose 'Flower and Insect' bowl and cover seal mark and period of Daoguang, the steeply rounded sides with flared rim painted on the exterior with a cicada beside flowering chrysanthemum, a long-legged insect in flight on the reverse, repeated on the domed cover surmounted by a ring knop, the base and cover inscribed in iron-red with a six-character seal mark, 11 cm diameter
