A 'Jizhou' 'Tortoiseshell'-Glazed jar Southern Song dynasty, the globular body rising to a short wide mouth with lipped rim, set on the shoulders with four lug handles, covered on the exterior with a dark brown glaze splashed in milky beige tones simulating tortoiseshell, the glaze falling in an uneven line around the biscuit foot, 12 cm diameter.
