A Victorian mahogany longcase regulator, Baynes, London, circa 1870, the silvered dial with an Arabic numeral minute ring enclosing subsidiary seconds and Roman numeral hour chapter rings, with a deadbeat escapement, maintaining power and beat adjustment to the crutch, mercury compensating pendulum and a single brass weight, above a scroll carved grape and vine crest, housed within a domed rectangular mahogany case with glazed access doors to the top and glazed panels to the sides and front of the trunk, above a plinth base, the dial signed 'Baynes, London.', 186 cm high and 38 cm wide
