A fine antique mutton fat jade group of two water buffalo Qing Dynasty, in creamy even toned pale stone and depicting two water buffalo upon a giant lotus leaf, one upon its haunches, the other recumbent and curled and grazing upon an auspicious lingzhi fungus. Provenance: the property of a Welsh Presbyterian missionary working in Mongolia in the 1890s, thence by descent, height 4 cm, length 6.5 cm
