An inscribed Tibetan carved wood book cover, circa 14th century, carved to the face with precious Buddhist symbols amidst scrolling foliage within an inner lotus petal border, surrounded by an outer border consisting of Tibetan sanskrit inscriptions, one end further carved with multiple figures seated in dhyanasana amidst scrolling foliage. Remnant polychrome decoration within the crevasses, 3.5 cm high, 81 cm wide, 23 cm deep
