John Dower [1791 - 1847], Van-Diemens Land, hand-coloured, 42 x 34 cm, published by Henry Teesdale, London, [1842]., Dower progressively added new features as Tasmania was being explored. In this 1842 version he introduced the Eldon, Franklin and Arthur Ranges and fuller river courses were added on the west coast. Lake St Clair appeared for the first time and several new towns including Longford, Tierney, Grindelward and Ross.
