Frederick Clifford Lavis [1892 - 1953] Ambulance Driver with the A.I.F. in France 1916 - 1919, An Australian cedar display box containing items that Lavis collected, souvenired or made. His 'trench art' pieces are of a particularly high standard and include a letter opener made from a used 303 shell and a strip of brass, an bi-plane modelled on a DeHavilland BE2c, the main body being a 303 shell, friendship rings, a round bottle opener/knife, etc. The display box also includes various badges, buckles and buttons, Lavis' dog-tags, his Army Medical Service linen arm band, etc., With accompanying biographical notes and write-up.
