Chinese yellow cotton tiger cover, of rectangular form, decorated with central roundel with tiger and bamboo catalogue note: court textiles were made in several centres including Nanjing where dragon robes for the court were made. When textiles were transported to Beijing covers such as this would have been used as wrapping. Tigers were considered to have a significant protective element.
