Robert Prenzel (1866-1941) Signed R. Prenzel dated 1919 A rare finely carved Eucalypt faunal panel showing a koala perched in a gum tree amongst leafy branches and gum nuts within a rectangular frame inscribed signature and date the panel 43 x 35 cm. Note: The koala is one of the rarest faunal motifs in Prenzel's work. A similar panel to the piece offered here featured on the front cover of Leonard Joel's inaugural Australiana auction on October 17 1988.
