Description:
A Georgian hand painted miniature eye brooch, the hair compartment brooch with seed pearl surround, centered with a hand painted miniature of a male right eye, in 9ct gold, circa 1790. Provenance: Anne Schofield Antiques, Sydney - the John Swanton collection in very good condition overall for the age of the piece. Seed pearls are all in good order and secure. The portrait is in very good condition, glazing is in very good order with minor scratches to surface. The reverse is in good order with hair feature intact and minor wear to gold surfaces. Some solder on pin fitting.
