Chinese Qing Dynasty wedding skirt panel, c.1875, depicting dragons chasing the flaming pearl and phoenix amongst flowers and above a rocky outcrop, in tones of green, cream and blue on an orange brocade, mounted, 35 cm x 68 cm (panel) catalogue note: the use of Imperial symbols was permitted for the for the bridge on her wedding day but normally the dragon and phoenix were reserved for the Emperor and the Imperial clan.
