Ferdinand Preiss, 1882-1942, Flame Leaper, circa 1935, carved ivory and patinated bronze, onyx base, engraved plaque to the onyx base inscribed 'Presented to Mrs Allan Dalziel / on the occasion of the launch of the / S/S 'Iron Knight' / (built by Lithgows Ltd) / By Sir Joseph W. Isherwood & Co. Ltd', inscribed signature 'F. Preiss' to the onyx base, 34 cm high. Provenance: Mrs Jean Dalziel, acquired 1937. Private Collection, South Australia, by descent from the above.
