A set of five carved ivory figures representing the senses, probably German, circa 1890, each carved in the form of a semi-draped maiden displaying the attributes of the five senses, including sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell, each raised on a turned ebonised socle, with gem-set gilt metal mounts, housed within a fitted cased with two hinged doors, four figures 31 cm total height, one figure 31.5 cm total height, the case 60 cm wide, 35 cm high, 13.5 cm deep
