A set of four embellished lacquer panels Qing dynasty, late 19th century, each rectangular black lacquer panel inlaid in various hardstones and bone, and painted with further detailing, depicting figures in a garden setting, one of an old man and two maidens by a lotus pool and pine tree, another of a maiden and attendant offered tea by a servant, beside a pavilion and prunus tree, another with maidens beside a fruiting peach tree, and another with a sage and attendant carrying a qin watched by a maiden in a pavilion beside a maple tree, each panel with an applied inscription, the panels glazed within the wood frames, each panel 139 cm high, 58.7 cm wide.
