Banquet table, late 19th century, Gillows of Lancaster (attributed) 24 seat Banquet Table, carved mahogany in the Chippendale style, circa 1890, originally commissioned by Sir Robert Lucas-Tooth this table is believed to have been part of the original furnishings for his Sydney mansion 'Swifts' in Darling point, which at the time had a ballroom larger than that of Government House. The House and table were sold in 1915 to Edmund Resch where he lived until his death in 1923. Eventually, it came into the possession of the Moran Health Group in Sydney and then was bequeathed under the Cultural Gifts Program to the Sir Henry Royce Foundation in 2008 with a market valuation of $40,000 done by Anthony Davies of Braidwood N.S.W. Davies sights similar examples selling at auction for between $100,000 and $355,000.
