Two Australian Colonial Tasmanian blackwood lady and gentleman's chairs, Tasmania, c. 1860, executed by Charles Farrer of Hobart, each with original black leather upholstery and buttons, tufted back, on carved front legs terminating in porcelain casters (2), height 94 cm, height 100 cm. Provenance: These chairs were purchased from early Australian Antiques, Victoria, in 1965. When sold in 1972 the dealer provided a letter offering to buy back the chairs. W., Shugy, NSW.
