An c.1820 English percussion 'manstopper' military or coaching pistol, unusually large 8 inch barrel faintly engraved 'London', captive ramrod and belt hook to left hand side. Possibly a private purchase by an officer as the 10 bore calibre is the same as that of the standard service musket with possible attribution to use in the Land Wars.
