Monumental size good model of HMS Victory believed to be the largest known model of this ship in Australia, length 214 cm, height 155 cm & width 26 cm approx, it took 15 years to build by a retired policeman in Sydney, completed in 1960's. Ships History - HMS Victory is a 104-gun first-rate ship of the line ship of the Royal Navy, ordered in 1758, laid down in 1759 and launched in 1765. She is best known for her role as Lord Nelson's flagship at the Battle of Trafalgar on 21 October 1805. Her majesty's Ship Victory is the only surviving naval warship that represents the skill of naval dockyard shipwrights, ships designers and the industrial ability of Britain during the mid-18th Century. Victory currently has a dual role as the Flagship of the First Sea Lord and as a living museum to the Georgian Navy. She transferred to The National Museum of the Royal Navy in 2012.
