A moulded and carved double-gourd bottle vase, Jiaqing mark, Republic period, the lower section with a phoenix standing amongst two peony branches, the upper section with the sun accompanied by scrolling clouds, and a dated inscription, 'first day after the full moon during the second month of the sixth year of Jiaqing (1801)', 27 cm high.
