A Chinese blue and white shipwreck basin bowl, late Ming Dynasty, early 17th century, the deep body with everted rim, painted underglaze with mirror shaped, cartouches of peonies, bamboo and cane baskets around a similar panel, all on a chequered ground, the rim with peonies, blossom and bamboo among fences, the reverse with small cartouches and scrolls.
