Two Monks, carved in the same posture facing the viewer and seated cross legged on a raised pedestal, Burma, Mandalay period, 19th century the young sincere face with pendulous ears resting on the shoulders, the right arm stretched out and the hand resting on the knee, the other arm deteriorated from the elbow, has original nails holding together, the hole in the centre of the head where a finial would have been. Condition: being exposed to the elements has resulted in a rustic worn patina, height 63 cm, width 31 cm
