A historically important crested Victorian sterling silver 'Fiddle and Thread' pattern part flatware service from the Lonsdale Silver Presentation, William Eaton, London, circa 1841, each piece double struck with a drop heel, the handle engraved with the Lonsdale family Stag insignia, comprising eight dinner forks, eleven entree forks, twelve table spoons and twelve dessert spoons, together with five later added Victorian sterling silver 'Fiddle and Thread' pattern dessert spoons, Francis Higgins, London, circa 1860, (48), approximately 3,411 gms total weight of silver. Provenance: Captain William Lonsdale (1799-1864), acquired 1842, Edgar Lonsdale Esq. (1839-1885), by descent from the above, Granville Lonsdale Esq.
