A historically important pair of crested Victorian sterling silver sauce boats from the Lonsdale Silver Presentation, William Mann, London, circa 1841, each with a bombe body inscribed to both sides with the Lonsdale family Stag crest, beneath a gadrooned pouring spout and rim, flanked by a leaf capped scroll handle, raised on scrolling acanthus legs, gilt wash interior, approximately 1,006 gms total weight of silver, 20 cm wide, 13 cm high, 11 cm deep. Provenance: Captain William Lonsdale (1799-1864), acquired 1842. Edgar Lonsdale Esq. (1839-1885), by descent from the above. Granville Lonsdale Esq. (1884-1922), by descent from the above.
