A Nepalese pair of painted book covers from a Devi Mahatmya text 18th century, the covers painted on both sides, the two outer sides with four manifestations of the goddess Durga, the two inner sides with three manifestations., the covers mounted in an open frame with bronze supports, each cover 15 cm high, 38. Cm wide. Mount 49 cm high, 49 cm wide Exhibitions: Exhibited in the exhibition 'Palm leaf and paper - illustrated manuscripts of India and Southeast Asia', an exhibition in the National Gallery of Victoria, curated by John Guy in 1982, and published in a catalogue of the same name.
