A rare Southern Chinese Maonan wedding blanket, Northern Guangxi Zhuang Province late 19th century a very rare and fine dowry blanket, comprising two joined long rectangular panels of silk and cotton woven cloth, inset into a black and pale indoigo cotton surround, the joined panels decorated with repeating patterns of stylised flowers in vegetal coloured silks against a brick red and bright yellow ground, 160 cm high, 118 cm wide.
