A fine Japanese cloisonne vase Hayashi Kodenji, Meiji period, 1880-1895, the vase of rounded square section, worked in sculpted gold and silver wire with polychrome enamels. Finely decorated with a bird perched on an autumnal maple tree with chrysanthemums below. Scrolling foliate borders to the mouth-rim and foot with silver collars to the base and mouth. A diamond shaped mark in silver wire for Hayashi Kodenji to the base, 16 cm high.
