A Korean inlaid celadon wine cup Goryeo Dynasty, circa 12th century, the cup of globular form, inlaid to the exterior under the mouth-rim with a keyfret border in inlaid black slip, the footrim glazed but with three glaze sticks where the piece was fired on stilt supports, covered overall with an even olive-green glaze. Old Japanese gold lacquer repair to the rim, 5.2 cm high, 8.8 cm diameter. Provenance: Purchased from Paul Nugent Fine Arts, Melbourne, 1979. Previously owned by Sir John Cripps.
